Drug Take Back Program

Drug Take Back Program

Removing unwanted and expired medications from our homes aids in the prevention of crimes in our community and protects our water supply.  Prescription drugs are unwittingly supplied to youths and addicts through home medicine cabinets of parents, grandparents, and friends.

While most adults recognize the need to remove these prescriptions, they lack the ability to do so in a legal and environmentally safe manner. Through this program, they can be turned over to the police department where citizens are ensured they are properly disposed of and will not end up in the hands of loved ones, create an opportunity for criminal activity, or cause our water supply to be tainted.

The Rx Drop Box is located in the Police Department lobby, at 311 Burton Hill Road and is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The box will be checked daily and the contents will be collected and prepared for an eco-friendly disposal, in accordance with Federal and State laws.  Please contact Brandy Barrett at 817-738-3675 with any questions regarding the Rx Drop Box program.
